The Challenge:
No existing university curriculum for teaching makerspace concepts and facilitation skills.

My Contribution:
Designed and developed credited first-year course from scratch
Taught course for 3 consecutive years to 60+ students
Created hands-on curriculum blending technical skills with pedagogical foundations

The Impact:
60+ students trained in makerspace fundamentals
Multiple graduates became makerspace facilitators and coordinators
Framework adapted for professional development at other institutions


Royal Roads University - Creative Podcasting Curriculum
Fall 2025 - Present
The Challenge: Launch new first-year communications course focused on creative podcasting with curriculum that engages students in hands-on media production.
My Contribution:

Designed complete course curriculum as consulting instructional designer
Created learning modules, assignments, and assessment frameworks
Currently co-instructing the course with 14 students

The Impact:

Successfully launched new program offering
Students creating podcast content from day one
Hands-on curriculum model for media education
