A well-designed space means nothing if people don't feel confident enough to walk through the door. Workshops were the bridge.
The Challenge
Across three organizations, the same pattern appeared. People had access to creative tools and spaces but hesitated to engage. The barrier wasn't ability. It was confidence. Workshops were designed specifically to close that gap, meeting people where they were and building the skills and self-assurance to participate fully.

The Impact
Workshops reached students, staff, and community members across all three organizations. At Camosun, orientation materials were digitized and remain available as an ongoing resource — extending their reach beyond any single session. At MakeSpace, participants left with a finished piece and the confidence to come back.
The Maker Pedagogy Workshop at Camosun is worth noting separately — training staff in how to facilitate maker learning is a multiplier. Every staff member who leaves that workshop more confident becomes a better resource for every learner who comes after them.
